The apartment is in a busy street, in the heart of Kiev next to the Zoloti Vorota metro station.
The entrance to the apartment is on the main street. To reach the apartment you need to enter a digital code. There is no parking other then in the main street near the apartment. There is no lift and the apartment is on the third and last floor. The apartment is in a decent state but can use some renovation. Upon entering, on your left you have a storage space (2 m2). Once you advance in the hallway (4 m2), on your left you have a rather small bathroom (5 m2) with bath-tub, toilet and a single sink. On your right, the bedroom is good sized (19 m2) and has a view on the main street and the Golden Gate. If you proceed straight forward, upon entering, you come to the kitchen (8 m2). The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, single sink, washing machine and a fridge. The kitchen window also gives on a small terrace (3 m2) with view on the main street. The noise levels are decent, however new double glazed windows would improve the situation. The heating is central to the building. The apartment is facing South.
Building Communal Areas: these areas are of reasonable standing. As with most buildings
in Kiev, the communal areas are the property and responsibility of the city and are not well cared for.

The apartment is in the upper city area of Kiev. In ancient times Kiev was the political, economic and spiritual center of Kyivan Rus. It consisted of the fortified hill area - the Upper City, and the crafts and trade area at the foot of the hill in Podol. It was in the Upper City that the first site of ancient settlement in Kiev was established fifteen centuries ago. Later the princes ruled over the lands of ancient Rus from here. Vladimir the Saint, Yaroslav the Wise, Vladimir Monomakh and other rulers contributed to the flourishing of the city. Marvelous churches and palaces towered in the Upper City. This was a place of enlightenment, art and crafts. Embassies came here from far afield to find brides for their kings. When the Mongol hordes ravaged the city, it was the upper part that suffered the most. For a long time it was left in ruins. Not many buildings survived, and only a few of those have been preserved to the present time to testify to the former grandeur. Subsequent generations have given the Upper City a new appearance - old- fashioned to some extent, but at the same time picturesque and unique. |
